Strange formations
Nambung National Park is home to The Pinnacles Desert. Thousands of eerie limestone pillars, up to 4m tall in all sorts of different formations are sporadically scattered over vast yellow, rippled sand dunes. The Pinnacles are about 245km, around a 3 hour drive from Perth city in Western Australia. Visitors, who must pay a fee to enter the National Park, can drive or walk amongst them.
The day we were there, it was 38 - 40 degrees celsius. The colours range from yellow to a softer more natural sandy colour, depending on the light and time of day.
