Bear in Dense Fog-Honorable Mentions - WPD 2024
I was photographing in Alligator River Wildlife Refuge where bears are aplenty. You have to be very careful and aware of your entire environment. The forest is dense and the canals are steep so visibility is minimal. Bears will pop out in all directions.
This morning in particular there was a very dense fog. You could hear bears moving around in the woods but you couldn't see them. I had stopped to take pictures of spider webs and this bear breaks through the trees and walks out onto the road 20 yards in front of me. The bear turned and looked at me and then walked down the road to disappear into the mist.
