I probably could have measured this all out in advance. But I have found for me, the most timely and low hassle way to eliminate costly mistakes is to fit each piece to one another, one at a time. Doing it this way helps you compensate for slight errors that can accumulate along the way, and ensure everything is exactly where you need it. Or at least that's my thinking for building prototypes anyway. If I had to make fifty of these, it would be easier to standardize things.

This photo is drilling the mounting holes in the apron block to mount the spacers.
