Later on in the day I noticed that icicles have developed between my toes. My hydration pack was completely frozen which has never happened to me before (not even in altitude). Meh, it didn't bother me much.

 

But I'm thankful to catch the cold front. Trekking through the valley(Yosemite) reminded me how magically it is in the off season. The snow covered trees and partially frozen river created a silent solace, a good change of pace from the past three months of constant travel and sleepless nights.
