fox II
I shot this from the open window of the bedroom. Hail was bouncing off the glass and the camera.
As a fierce storm swept in from the southern ocean this small boat, "Fox II", was blasted back to the safety of the inner harbour of port Lyttelton.
The camera's auto focus was confused by the torrent of large hailstones. In the space of an hour there were 1100 lightning strikes with constant thunder crashing and rolling round the hills and mountains surrounding the harbour.
I had some fun cropping this image, to further enhance the effect of the dense hail and make it look like a water-colour .
