living dangerously

Placing hazard warning sides around Christchurch, Lyttelton and the local environment has become a dangerous growth industry since the earthquakes. We appreciate the concern, but stating the obvious has become an art form.

This sign stands at the base of Shag Rock, a familiar landmark on the coast line between Redcliffs and Sumner beach. The earthquakes shattered this volcanic stone and reduced it to a pile of rubble. It is now known locally as Shag Pile.
