Xmas / New Year's kitschy decoration became a usual ritual by the mid-2010's in Moscow. You can find below a year-before version of decoration of this same place (which is Bolshoi Theatre). I remember first time I saw it I was nearly shocked: "Why? What for?" - but now I don't even notice all that stuff around.
