I'm taking a little break from Flickr right now. Meanwhile lately i was collecting the most popular pics from 2016 and it turned out like i didn't expect. First i tried to use Dopianza app which created an album based on the Flickr "interestingness" index. But the result was completely disappointing because the first page was made almost completely out of my 'Explored' pics. It didn't look representive at all. So i decided to handpick the ones you liked the best (according your 'favs'). I checked the most recent pages of my stream and decided to set the bar above 30 favs (with some exceptions) because recently there was only a few of them on every page. So i started from the most recent pages and was going further. After i passed a half of the way (3 months of the Summer 2016 + May) i noticed that the number of 30+favs pics on the each next page grows quickly. That's how i found out how popular i was a couple of years ago :-)) There could be a few reasons for this. The most obvious - my pics before the "greenery" period (which in Moscow starts in May) are more popular (the ones with the snow were esp popular). And honesltly - i completely agree with you, i like them better then the sunny ones too.
Anyways it was too late to set the other bar for the 'most popular' album so i continued with 30+ favs. In the result i finished with 1285 pics. From a total number of more then 4200 pics from that time period it's more than each 4th pic - obviously much more than i expected to collect. And out of them about 950 pics are from the "grey" period (January - April) and only about 330 from the "green" period (May - August)
I have big doubts that album will be helpful for someone except me becuase it's too big. But anyways it's much easier to explore 10+ pages instead of 40+ pages of my stream and i think that smaller version of my stream based on your preferences is pretty representive and i like it. So i need to thank my regular audience for working as a test group :-)
