Lumina
By DreamSculptr of Shikaraki Gallery.
This figurative art is a bas-relief sculpture of a character in the second book of my upcoming 'Patches' book series, though she has a tendency of turning up in many other places to numerous to think about today. She is the third generation of stand-alone ornaments that have evolved since 1976 from Baker's Clay that I made and colored myself (and sold to galleries, gift shops, and colleagues so successfully I could not keep up), then to polymer clay, and now to high-fire clay. I will be adding touches of color, and will also keep my intention to create next in porcelain, returning to a fingering method of the past. She is ahand-shaped and carved in a method similar to sgraffito. Her friends will soon appearing one by one.
