Romance Streets
I'm actually surprised I didn't end up with any pictures of people making out. Santorini is apparently the island of romance (I was warned about this) and everyone seemed to be either boyfriend/girlfriend, married, or in the process of getting married.
According to the hostel guy (who was incredibly nice, by the way), lots of Asians fly all the way over to Fira to get married, which struck me as rather random.
These little streets were cool architecturally, but overwhelmingly touristy. On the other hand, since everyone is actually happy here, all of the people running the shops were in good spirits and very friendly (though sometimes in an aggressive way). It's like they're careful not to ruin someone's honeymoon. Also, everyone spoke English. And sometimes, a few words in Japanese. I was surprised by how everyone was able to correctly identify me as Japanese and not Chinese or Korean like everywhere else in the world.
