I only came by Pete's photos very recently and this photo of his was one of the final triggers to get me started with this gallery. The other, earlier one, was one of Paul's pics, which I'll introduce to you later. I decided I would only chose one photo per person, but in some cases this was a very difficult task. Pete has some pretty amazing photos of flying birds against equally amazing skies. Just check out his set "my friend the sun" and you'll know what I mean. :)

I invite you guys to look through Tracy's gallery. It's a non stop flow of beautiful minimalist photos, not to be missed. She has too many great pics with flying birds, but this one is phenomenal: the very dim line of the horizon grounding the photo and giving you a point of reference, the smoke coming out of some sort of chimney in the distance and the bird flying from it all. It's a powerful image!

Glasauge's photos first caught my eye through a photo of mud. Yes, mud! :) So, I decided to take a look at his photostream and found an awesome assembly of landscapes. He too, like myself, likes mountains and atmospheric perspective. Today I thought I'd go through his pics in search for a flying bird. Tough job: there's only 4 photos of birds and only one of them flying. But I had no doubts about including this photo in this gallery!

This is one of Ken's mesmerizing pics of burning yellow-orange skies. Ken's photography first caught my eye through his beautiful rendering of waterfalls. But his gallery has many great surprises and his flying seabirds is one of them. I struggled to choose one of his photos to include here. It was between this one and another one taken at Wilson Point, Maryland. This one won, but it was a very close call!

The first photos of Jane that grabbed my attention were photos of reflections (just reflections, no original subject) that tell stories of parallel worlds. Very cool stuff, if you ask me! But she's very versatile - I wish I was half as versatile as she is! Her gallery is full of landscapes, portraits, street shots, surrealist photos, abstracts - a bit of everything! This photo of hers was not a very difficult pick for me and some of you know very well why. :) Yes, isn't that cloud freakin' awesome?

David has one brilliant gallery! So much so, I can't spend a lot of time going through it before I start feeling that I shouldn't give up my day job just yet... It is difficult to feel jealous of someone who shares this much beauty with others, though. I absolutely love this photo! The sky and clouds are magnificent, but in combination with a flawless HDR and that dreamy water... Outstanding!

This is the photo I mentioned earlier, that first got me thinking in putting together all these flying birds. As I wrote to Paul on my initial comment to his photo, I love the softness of the sunlight and the way it highlights that big beautiful cloud hanging over the mountain. Perfect elegant wings on that bird, hey?
