Touch the toes? Grab the feet!
So, during this shoot I wanted to practice lighting in different situations within the studio setting. The yoga poses were perfect for it as it made me get down low with the lights. It was a challenge figuring out how to light a subject folded up on the floor, but I think this came out pretty nice. I ended up laying my softbox over directly on the floor just right of camera and adjusting my slave speedlight to its lowest position on the stand and aimed it down camera left for just a little bit of fill. What made it easy for me was that my model (a friend of mine) just ran through her poses so I didn't have to think up much of anything. My focus could remain on the lighting. Posing seems a bit daunting at this stage in my journey. Knowing how to pose people is a huge part of the shoot...and, one I have little experience in. But, it's the most fun I've ever had learning. Enjoy!
