Nepal Volunteering and Annapurna-Dhaulagiri Community Trek

by Martin Budd

In December 2015 we joined a group of nine other volunteers to build a school room in the remote ridge-top village of Kangwa in the Manthali District of Nepal. The village, with no electricity or water on tap, had never before been visited by foreigners. Amazing! What an honour it was for us to be the ones who would fist visit this place, and how humbling it was to be so honoured by the villagers! We lived in the village for 2 weeks building a temporary schoolroom to replace ones destroyed by earthquake. Once we had finished we did a 10 day trek on the Annapurna-Dhaulagiri Community Trail. We highly recommend this entire experience.
