DMS686 on route 169 at Newbury Park, Green Gate
*** restoration work May 2022 to remove scratches etc.
DMS686 unloads at the bus stop at the 'Green Gate' (now McDonalds). The Victor Hair Artist still sported the same sign over 37 years later and I believe the wonderfully titled 'Fags an' Mags' still trades under that name (although at this time the full signage said "Fags and Mags for the Recorder" (this being the local paper)). What's the Ford Anglia doing parked up on the pavement?
Update 27/12/15. After over 40 years, the 'Victor hair artist' yellow sign disappeared sometime during 2015 and was replaced by an 'Ask 4 Property' sign. Fags and Mags still remains (although with a different name sign).
This was taken on a Sunday. If my memory serves me well, the 169 and 169C alternated thus serving both Claybury - The Glade and Claybury Broadway.
Copyright myself (did anyone else ever take photos in this spot??)
