Modelmadness
1965 Chrysler 300 ( JoHan ?)
I’m surprised this is on here. Bought built up and hand painted in a job lot. Paint was terrible so I stripped it down with brake fluid.
Went to repaint it but the paint didn’t sit well. So stripped it again. Repainted it again and the paint still wouldn’t take . The plastic had very pitting all over.
So I tried again using a different primer. Still wouldn’t take so I stripped yet again. By now the boot lid had split, front windshield frame had split. Lost a section of body where the wiper blades are . And the detailing was becoming more shallow.
But the rest of the model perfect. Seemed a shame to bin it so, after sitting in a box stripped down for 7/years I’ve decided to tackle it again. I found the missing section of windshield frame a wrecked 66 Monaco.
This time the paint took. Detail is a bit shallow but , it turned out alright considering.
