Star Wars Tanga Squad Chronicles - Degree
"Some things you can't just fix." - D.M. Kydan Witress
Narrator- "Ever since this war has started, the Republic's LAAT Gunships are the most suitable ships for both air and ground assault attacks. Some carry medical tanks while others carry laser turrets for more fire power. However, even with all that, you always need the best and most trained pilots to fly them. Now, the Republic has tons of good pilots and whatnot. But most of them are clones, and they only been through simulations on Kamino. Some of these clones actually have gone through the pilot training. And yet, they're still pretty bad at flying.'
'So if you don't believe what you hear, than this here should prove it. Cause this one clone couldn't do a simple thing as that."

(Outer Rim, Republic Fleet, Five months after the Battle of Taris)
Out in the Outer Rim Territories, inside the Venator-Class Star Destroyer, Reluctance, Dark Mercenary, Kydan Witress, was working on a damaged gunship that had just been in the recent warzone. Apparently, one of the pilots had gone and rammed the gunship into the ground while dodging anti-aircraft turrets that were, to say, blazing with death written on all of them. But when he did, the pilot damaged the gas line from underneath the gunship, so the fuel was now leaking, empty and unflyable. To fix the pilot's mistake, Kydan had to go and fix someone else's problem. Again...
Kydan- *Grumbles* "The third time this happened. How the bloody galaxy does that clone damaged something like this? That part, I may never know..."
???- "Need any help, merc boy?"
Not even looking up to see who it was, he rolled his eyes as the woman's voice called him 'merc boy'. He knew fully well who it was, and he didn't need another argument from the likes of her.
Kydan- "No. I don't trust you with these ships at all. And would you stop calling me merc boy, Calena?"
Calena- First off, the name suits you so it's permanetly stuck, and second...what the heck do you mean you don't trust me?"
Kydan just sighed in annoyance and pulled himself out from underneath the gunship, brushing off the dust and grease from his hands and work garments.
Kydan- "I'll tell you why. It's because the last time I had you help me fix one of these, you had gone and screw up the piloting controls. On top of that, the gun turrets were loose after you 'greased' them."
Calena- "That was not my fault! I was just trying to help!"
Kydan- "And yet...you go and do more damage to the ship..."
That got her mad. Yes, it was true, she was just trying to help him fix the last gunship after the Battle of Dantooine had ended. But it wasn't like she had to be perfect about it. All she was trying to do was give him a hand and try to be nice about it. But instead, all she gets is a big fat complaint from him.
Calena- "Well excuse me for trying to help! I thought I would do something nice for a change! I guess I won't ask to help again."
Kydan just sighed in response after a moment of silence. In truth, he really didn't mean it saying that. He was just blowing off steam from all the anger and annoyance he had with his trooper. Because of him, he was the one stuck with fixing the bloody dang gunship. He thought that he might as well have some help before he's on his own.
Kydan- "Alright...if you really want to help me, hand me that duck tape over there."
Pointing to where the tape was, she huffed and reached over, grabbed it and handed it back to him as she crossed her arms. Going back under the gunship, he takes the tape and starts to wrap some of it around the broken pipe from underneath, sealing the fuel lines completely. From what he could see, it had worked.
Kydan- "There! That'll hold it for the time being."
Calena- "Exactly what was wrong with it?"
Kydan- "Fuel line was broken again. Our 'best pilot' rammed the gunship into the ground on one of our last battles and damaged the fuel line. So the gunship ran out of fuel when it came back inside the destroyer with a hole about the size of a wamp rat."
Calena- "Does he reallly want to get in trouble by his superiors or something? I can't seem to figure him out what so ever."
Kydan- "Now that, we can both agree on. Come on, let's get some grub and then come back and work on this more."
Calena- "I thought you said you don't need help?"
Kydan- *Sighs* "I suppose...I can give you another chance. But no messing with anything else except what we're working on. Understand?"
Happy with his response, the two headed to the cafeteria lounge to get something to eat. Walking rigth pass them was a clone trooper named Degree, one of the members of Kydan's squad and the squad's ammunition expert. He was carrying a crate full of something through the hangar over to where the gunship was positioned at.
Degree- *Grumbles* "Why do I have to do this stuff? This is for the crew members, not a squad member! And it wasn't my fault that I wrecked the gunship again. I was under alot of pressure--"
But before he could finish his sentence, he had suddenly slipped and fell to the ground hard, dropping whatever the crate was containing to the floor on its side. Apparently, he had somehow slipped on some Tibanna Gasoline that was spilled out of the hangar.
Degree- "Ow! Who in the cloning process left fuel lying around?!"
To answer his question, he looked over to where the crate had spilled its items at. He noticed that one of the items had rolled right over to the tools stand, ready to pump right into it. To his horror, he noticed that one of the tools was laying right off the edge of the stand, ready to fall from the slightest touch of something like a feather. That tool was a flame torch.
He shut his eyes tight as the item tapped the stand slightly, causing the torch to fall to the ground with a loud clang. After a few moments, shutting his eyes tight, he slightly looked over to where the torch had landed. To his relief, the torch did absolutely nothing as it just laid there on the ground.
Degree- *Wipes forehead* "Phew! Glad nothing bad happened this time. For a second there, I thought something bad would happen..."
Oh how wrong he was...

(10 minutes later...)
Kydan- "Good thing this ship was carrying actual food for once."
Calena- "Better than those rations we've all been eating lately. I could already go for thirds."
Breona- "I second that, ma'am."
Kydan- "Now, let's get working on that gunship finally."
However, just stepping into the hangar bay, the scene before them all was shocking and horror.
What they saw was the entire hangar bay on fire, with flames catching everything it could on fire, canisters flying around on both ground and air, and clones trying to control the chaos all around them. What was worse, out of everything they noticed, was that the gunship was now blown into bits, flames and smoke coming out of it. They couldn't believe what they were witnessing.
Kydan- "What the--?!"
Calena- "Oh my..."
Breona- "Uh..."
What came next was nothing compared to what was gonna happen at that moment. Looking over to the side of the gunship was none other than Degree himself, looking at his commanding officers with a very nervous smile and chuckle.
Degree- "H-heh...h-hey there sirs...ma'am. Um...th-this isn't what it looks like..."
Kydan- *Eye twitches* "Exactly what does it look like then...Degree?"
Both Calena and Breona could tell that Kydan was already furiated with his trooper, let alone the tone of his voice. They knew that his voice was completely fake and was hiding the anger that was quickly boiling inside him.
Degree- W"-well it...u-um...okay--this was not my fault...to say, and--"
Before he could even finish his sentence, a blaster shot was seen passing right by him as he dodged it at the nick of time.
Looking over to who had try to shoot him was Kydan, pointing his CC-29 "Magna" Pistol at his own trooper. The expression on his face was completely changed into furry and anger, his eyes turning red rose colored. He was now completely beyond mad.
Kydan- "Degree..."
(A minute later...)
Kydan- *Anger* "I'LL KILL YOU, YOU USELESS CLONE! I'LL RIP OUT YOUR SOCKETS AND SHOVE THEM RIGHT UP YOUR..."
Degree- *Terrified* "W-WAIT, SIR! L-LET ME EXPLAIN! AHHH!"
Calena and Breona just stood there as Kydan chased Degree all around the hangar, trying to either get his hands on his trooper or shoot him with his pistol. They both had the look of annoyance, knowing that Degree had really screwed this up.
Breona- I really like to know how Degree created something so chaotic in a hangar.
Calena- I think I know...
Calena showed Breona what and how it all happened as she reveal to him the very same duck tape that Kydan had used to patch up the fuel line earlier before they went to get some food.
Breona- "Is that...?"
Calena- *Sighs* "The very same tape that Kydan had patched the fuel line with."
Looking over to the chaos that was pursuing and Kydan still chasing Degree all around, Calena just sighed and shook her head.
Calena- And he saids I screw up whenever I fix something.
Breona- "Think we should tell them?"
The two looked at each other for a moment before looking back to Kydan and Degree, watching as Kydan threw a couple of crates by using the Force at his trooper dodged them one-by-one, still terrified by his commander's rage and anger. Calena and Breona stared with blank expressions before the two shook their heads in unison.
Calena & Breona- "...Nah."

We had a great and funny time coming up with this piece of work. We tried to work it over with our series since stupidity kinda runs around in it, so we wanted to show what it was like with some of the future clones in Tanga squad. And out of them all, I suggested to my crew of our clone, Degree, who makes us all laugh with his stupidity and stubborness, as well as his crazy acts. So nonetheless, this was really fun. Also, it was a good way for us to show you guys each of the members of Tanga Squad as well.
Anyways, this is was our entry to the "HUGE Fans of LEGO Contest Round 1" back on MOC-pages in December 2014. The subject was how duck tape can be used and ending in a funny disaster. And the first thought of ours was a clone screwing up something important in the Star Wars universe, and so, this is what we had come up with. We didn't think we would have won it by any means, but surprisingly, we won by a landslide. It was very fun and hopefully soon, we would like to to enter another contest such as that one lol.
Hope you all enjoyed this little old piece of work of ours, and we will be doing bios for each character in the series very soon, so stay tuned for that. Thanks again for everything you guys are doing for us, and as always, have a fan-tucking-tastic day/night! See ya' in the next one.
