[SW The Dark Mercenary] Chapter 11 - Difficult Units
(Jabiim system, sixteen months after the events of Chapter 10)
Over the past few months, the Clone Wars has finally made it's way through the Outer Rim territories. Recently, on the borders of the Jabiim system, the Jabiimi Nationlists leader, Alto Stratus, has killed most of the pro-Republic members of the Jabiim Congress.
After the act of treason, civil war had broken out between Stratus' Nationlist faction with the aid of the Separatist Alliance against the remaining Jabiimi Loyalists, led by Captain Orilss Gillmunn, who were all still loyal to the Galactic Republic.
As Jabiim geared themselves towards their civil war, negotiations spearheaded by the Alderaan Diplomatic Corps. Taking notice of these recent actions, the Galactic Republic and the Senate preapre to retake the planet back by force rather than losing the planet and it's valuable minerals to the Seperatists. With that, the Republic sends a group of well trained Jedi Knights and Generals out to Jabiim. In the Jedi group, there were Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi, Sirrus, Norcuna and Leska, followed by Commanders Anakin Skywalker, Calena Irune and her officer, Captain Patterns. Aiding the Jedi was Captain Orilss Gillmunn as he leads his remaining Jabiimi Loyalists out with the Republic forces when they arrive. But there was a couple others that will help spark the coming battle on the surface of Jabiim.

(Jabiim Orbit, Acclamator-Cruiser Warfare, one hour before landing)
Inside the cruiser of the Warfare, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Calena Irune, Sirrus and Leska were all huddled around the HoloNet table, negotiating over the battle plans on Jabiim with Orilss Gillmunn who was shown on the holos.
Orilss- "Once we intercept their army, you will only have little time to deploy your troops into Shelter Base. Otherwise, we will all fail before any of you land to participate in the fight."
Obi-Wan- "We understand captain. I hope your men understand that there will be alot of sacrifices involved in this. I cannot help but feel pity for them."
Orilss- "We all came this far... we're not backing down now Master Kenobi. You just get down here and aid us. We will worry about our own men. Orills out."
Nodding to the Jedi, Orilss' hologram disappears from the holo table, leaving Obi-Wan and the other Jedi who were left in the room to talk amongst themselves.
Obi-Wan- Well this should be interesting.
Calena- Isn't it always Master Kenobi?
Obi-Wan- "Ever since this war began, many things have been considered 'interesting' Calena."
Obi-Wan turns his attention towards his other fellow Jedi who were awating him to give a command.
Obi-Wan- "Anakin, I want you and Master Leska to take the first landing and assist Orilss' men as myself, Siruss and Norcuna deploy the remaining forces on the ground. But I just want you to assist them, not to charge up the attacks head on."
Anakin- "Yes master."
Leska- "He will be safely under my protection Master Kenobi, that I can assure you."
Obi-Wan- Thank you Master Leska. May the Force be with you both.
Leska- "And you Obi-Wan."
Both Anakin and Leska then leave the briefing room and headed down to the hangars to meet with the other clones under their commands. Obi-Wan could sense that Anakin was a bit uneasy lately and it has been causing him to feel troubled, towards both himself and his apprentice.
Calena- "I don't mean to be rude, but are you sure young Skywalker can handle this mission, Master Kenobi? He is still just a Padawan."
Obi-Wan- "I wonder that myself, Calena. Hopefully I did not make the wrong decision."
Sirrus- "The Force shall decide this Kenobi. As we all know, he is the Chosen One. He will be the one who shall bring balance to the Force. Besides, Master Leska will be watching over him during the fight. I see no reason for concern."
Obi-Wan- "Point taken Master Sirrus. Alright, for the next deployment, myself, Sirrus and Norcuna will make the drop quickly. Hopefully we can assist Orilss and his men fast enough to unload the cargos."
Calena- "What about me adn my team, Master Kenobi?"
Obi-Wan- "I want you to take the 117th and push them up to the front. Make sure you and our friend don't cause alot of havoc."
Calena- "That I can do Mast-... wait, who's this 'friend' your talking about?"
???- "He's referring to me, Lady Irune."
Heairng that familiar and obnoxious voice, Calena whips herself around to see who had spoken to her. Walking into the briefing room was Kydan and his commanding officer, Commander Breona, as Kydan bows before them in respect of their Jedi traditions.
Calena-" Kydan Witress... didn't think I was gonna see you again."
Kydan- "Aww, did you miss me that much? I'm touched, milady."
Calena- "In your dreams, Kyie-guy."
Breona- *Chuckles* "Kyie-guy."
Kydan turns around and gives Breona a deadly glare before glancing back at Calena. He knows that General Calena always called "Kyie-guy" for amusement. She thought it was actually cute and funny. But to Kydan, it was not what you called "cute".
Kydan- "Well, if I was dreaming, I wouldn't have to be here now, would I 'princess'?"
Calena- "Princess?! I have you know that even though I am a Sirunian, that doesn't mean I know how to use my fighting skills 'jungle boy'!"
Kydan- "Jungle boy?! Who are you calling 'boy' here!?"
Both Kydan and Calena dangerously glared directly at each other as they kept insulting and arguing with each other of total nonsense.
Obi-Wan, Sirrus, Patterns and Breona all looked at them with bewilderment. They never seen Kydan nor Calena fight so bad before. In fact, they never seen them argue with anyone in their lives. To ease the tensions in the briefing room, where all the clones were taken back by the sudden argument between the commanding officers.
Sirrus- "I hate to break up the little 'reunion' between the two of you, but we do have a battle to be at."
Both of them stopped arguing as they turned their attentions to Master Sirrus for a moment. Controlling their normal selves again, Kydan gave the Jedi Master a smile and nod.
Kydan- "Of course, Master Sirrus, forgive us for her little 'intrusion'."
As those words slipped from his mouth, Calena gave him a glare of daggers that could have torn the room into shreds. She was already uncomfortable about Kydan being in the same room with her. Now it was bad enough to be blamed for the argument on her too. It was always her fault, apparently.
Calena- "Forgive me masters, but why is he here?!"
Obi-Wan- "From what we read months ago during the the Battle of Carida and the little heroism in the Battle of Taris, his talents have become quite effective for the Republic, much more than so when he was a Jedi."
Sirrus- "And... he is to be your partner for this battle."
As Master Sirrus said "your partner", meaning herself, her eyes began to widen quickly with her jaw half opened. Did Master Sirrus truly say what he just said? Her and Kydan were gonna be "partners"?!
Calena- "...Wait what?! Partner?! Him?!"
Kydan- *Mock voice and salutes* "At your service, my lady."
Calena- "Shut your mouth merc boy! I am not partnering up with you! No way, no how!"
Obi-Wan- "Alright, that's enough from the both of you! Calena, remember your place."
Calena, who was just acting all irritated and annoyed just a bit ago, stopped her argument. What Obi-Wan said was true. She was a Jedi Knight, and she was already being stubborn, irrational and emotional, causing her to lose her sight as a Jedi. She frowns and lowers her head in shame.
Calena- "...Forgive me for my actions Masters. I did not know what I was doing. It won't happen again."
Obi-Wan nods in understanding as he turns to Admiral Wolrein, Kydan's old Admiral during the Battle of Geonosis, who was walking up to him from the bridge as he waited for Obi-Wan's orders. It seemed that the Admiral have shaven his beard and left his mustache to grow.
Obi-Wan- "Admiral, begin our decent down to the planet. It is time we aid the Jabiimis and General Orilss on the surface."
Wolrein- "Understood sir."
He turns his head to the left to see Kydan standing next to General Calena as he gives him a nod.
Wolrein- "Commander."
Kydan- "Admiral."
Nodding once more, he takes his leave and heads back towards the command deck, once again, leaving Obi-Wan, Sirrus, Calena, Kydan, Patterns and Breona alone.
Obi-Wan- "Alright, you all know what your tasks are. Lets get going... and may the Force be with us all."
All nodding in agreement, they all took their leaves towards the doors and headed towards the hangar bay down below.
_________________________
Splitting off from Masters Obi-Wan and Sirrus, Kydan and Calena continued their little argument down the halls on every corner and every room. Breona and Patterns were both behind them, listening to their bad mouth talks.
Patterns- *Muttering* "Do they always do this?"
Breona- *Whispering* "Everytime they meet up. It could be the Jedi Council or the Clone Barracks on Kamino for all they care. They can't stop arguing."
Patterns- "Why in the heck are they arguing in the first place? Don't the two know each other?"
Breona- "As far as I know, yeah. They've known each other since the Battle of Taris. Though, as far as I heard, they were a pretty good team duo taking down Gualo Rorinth back then. But now, I guess ever since that day, they've started to argue for some reason."
Patterns- "Hmm... any idea as to why that is?"
Breona- "Don't know. Though, I highly doubt we'll get any answers if we had asked anyway."
Patterns- "Point taken."
With that, Kydan and Calena both bickered and argued with each other all the way to the hangar bays with Breona and Patterns behind them, both pretty much embarrassed from their commanding officers, even if they were just clones. It was already too much, even for them.
Though, Kydan and Calena will have to find a way to cooperate with each other during the fight, or they'll both be pawns to their certain deaths on the surface below.

Well...what did many of you think of the first part so far? Like it? Needs work? Not too fond of it? Let us know on what you guys thought down below.
We also know this was a very short chapter, we understand that. We had originally though this would be a fun way to make your guy's appetite for more story to build up. So you could probably say that this was actually like an appetizer for you all lol.
I think that's enough questions to ask you all personally lol. So thank you all for your wonderful support that you have been giving us recently, and please, continue to give us the feedback on how the story is going and what we could still approve on in the later future. Again, thank you all and, as always, have a fan-tucking-tastic day/night! See ya' in the next one.
