Annapolis Towne Centre development, in Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA.
This is part of the mixed-use Annapolis Towne Centre Development, in the Western part of the U.S. state of Maryland's capital city of Annapolis. The first phase of the development opened in the year 2007 or 2008, on the site of an old, small, and unpopular indoor mall, and it appears to have been quite successful so far. There appears to be some construction currently taking place in the area, specifically a midrise, multi-unit residential building to the West of the large, 2-story Target store that anchors the development. The U.S. state of Maryland's capital city of Annapolis is located in Eastern Anne Arundel County, Maryland, about 25 miles East of Washington, DC, and also about 25 miles South of Baltimore, Maryland. Annapolis is home the the United States Naval Academy, and currently has a population of about 39,000 people, and is growing relatively fast in population. Annapolis is also quite densely populated for a city of its size, and has a pleasant, historic downtown area that was bustling with activity when we were there yesterday, and I also took many pictures there in the downtown area, and am also uploading them to Flickr today. Anne Arundel County is the fifth most populated of Maryland's 24 counties, with a current population of about 545,000 people, and is growing relatively fast in population. Anne Arundel County, Maryland is located South and West of Baltimore City and County, between Baltimore and Washington, DC, but closer to Baltimore, and is included in the Baltimore portion of the massive Washington, DC-Baltimore Metropolitan area. This photo was taken yesterday, on December 1, 2012.
