Dolly's foal
Taken years ago at a friend's place, here's Molly, a little filly, pausing in her playing for a brief snack. Mom (Dolly), tolerated my moving all around her and getting into all sorts of positions while trying to get the best angle for a shot. While snapping this pic I noticed that she never took her eyes off me. Molly was very curious, seeming to make a game out of sniffing my camera bag, spinning and scooting away, then returning for another sniff.
Taken with my old Kodak P850 camera. Other photos taken in bright sunlight were far too contrasty, with deep shadows that some fill flash might have helped with. In this particular situation, one where popping the flash might be too disturbing, I felt that the best thing to do would be to wait and see if they moved into the shade by a shed. They eventually did, offering this interesting composition, with very nice soft lighting.
