Fallow deer fawns, "Stormy" and "Elliot"
These are two house guests (nights only until they get a bit older). Both were born out of first time mothers and were rejected. They both needed colostrum and were bottle fed until weaned. Here they're enjoying some home-made fruit salad mixed with deer pellets and a bit of corn. Although reasonably well-behaved at night they do commit a bit of mischief. About three AM this morning Elliot decided the edge of my pillow cover need some tugging and chewing. I sent him away to his napping spot only to have him return later and start playing with my reading glasses on the night stand beside the bed. A second march off to his bed finally had him settle down until dawn.
