White Heron

Maori name: Kotuku

 

One of four shots, a moment I'll not forget in a hurry.

The White Heron is protected and native to New Zealand. They can be found on inland and tidal waterways. This one was fishing for eels in the Ashley Rakahuri Estuary before taking flight.
