Andy Warhol M1 1979
Possibly the reason why a lot of people will come to see this exhibition. Warhol chose to paint directly on to the car with brushes, but for me (and I consider myself a fan of Warhol) it doesn't really work - It reminds me too much of me painting airfix models and my guitar when I was a teenager to customise it - the results were always painfully reminding me I shouldv'e got someone who was actually good at painting to do what I wanted to do. The end result is, in my opinion, a mess (though it is fun closer up, and imagining Warhol sitting in a chair actually painting this car). It might have something to do with Warhol not really having any affinity with cars or motor sport so didn't factor that into his painting, he just wanted to paint a car.
