The Bova Futura - How things have changed!

Since it was first introduced in the early 80's to replace the Bova Europa, the Bova Futura has had many design changes inside and out but has always kept the general basic shapes and design's that makes it the Bova Futura, no matter whether you are looking at a 1985 model and a 2009 model, you will still be able to identify what is is. The Bova Futura has been extremely popular with many coach operators and still is!

The Bova Futura was due to be replaced by the Bova Magiq a few years ago but before the Magiq was due to replace it, the sales of the Futura were at an all time high so it was decided that the Futura and Magiq would be produced alongside each other. The Futura was also given a small facelift and slight design change. Another thing showing the popularity of the Futura is that the Magiq was discontinued in the UK in 2009 due to lack of sales and the Futura is still going!

In 2015 when the companies that are owned by VDL, which include Berkhof, Jonckheere and Bova will merge into VDL and all models by all three firms will be discontinued either then or before. However VDL are now producing the VDL Futura which will not be available in the UK for a couple of years yet but it is more or less a re-styled Magiq so the popular and long lasting Futura design will be lost which is a shame.
