A silly putty cast of the Ediacaran fossil Spriggina
Np1Img4SprigPutty
A putty cast of the fossil of the Ediacaran organism Spriggina floundersi. This species is segmented and elongate, with a “head” end and a “tail” end that look different from each other. The head-end has a U-shaped shield around it, and there is a central groove that runs along the length of the organism. Some scientists believe this fossil represents an animal, while other are not so sure. These fossils are only found in rocks in South Australia.
