Lateral view of the forearm

61 - Extensor digitorum

Remember that towards the elbow is the ulna, and opposite of the elbow is the radius. There are 5 muscles viewable on the lateral side of the forearm. The extensor digitorum is the muscle in the middle. So, starting from the elbow, the muscles in order are: Extensor carpi ulnaris; Extensor digitorum lateralis; Extensor digitorum (middle); Extensor carpi radialis; Brachioradialis (now towards the radius).

In this view, only 4 of the muscles are clearly viewable. Brachioradialis is obscured behind the Extensor carpi radialis. However, you can see the brachioradialis on both lateral and medial views of the forearm, (this is just not a very clear lateral view).
