When Bobbie first moved to Broken Hill she found this old neglected church in Silverton which she bought, to save it from falling into a heap of rubble. People asked why she would buy "a pile of stones" but she was drawn to it for its charm and has since restored it enough to hold her daughter's wedding.
Bobbie's husband worked for the ABC for many years and because married women couldn't work in the 60's, she used to show visiting filmmakers various locations in the area for commercials and feature films. One director suggested that she should run her own casting agency and so she took his advice has since worked with many feature films including 'Rikki and Pete', 'Mad Max' and 'Wake in Fright'.
Bobbie grew up on a rice farm in Griffith and used to ride her horse for 5 miles to get to school. When her younger brother started school they drove a sulky instead. Because the journey was so far sometimes they used to stop on the way home to play marbles. Since then she went to Mossvale boarding school and lived in Sydney where she met her husband, John. Together they moved to Broken Hill.
