Pretty In Pink
So I made a return trip for one day in hopes of getting shots of a Rough Legged with prey. I waited ALL DAY and just about gave up hope. As the sun had set this fella became aggressively active and began hunting. The sky created a nice pink cast on the mountains from the golden light. I couldn't have asked for a better backdrop. I will post prior shots, but wanted to jump ahead. He devoured two voles within 15 a minute span. I'll save those for later :) These were dreams shots for me and felt so elated after waiting all day for something to happen because most of the hawks stayed out too far. My first encounter two weeks ago yielded nice Ferruginous Hawks as well. More to come! Click for large version.
