A Sticky Situation
While I was in Kauai I made two trips to Kilauea Lighthouse. First trip was to get a feel for the spot and determine where to set up because I knew I didn't get that action shot I wanted, plus the light was very harsh. Second visit had nice overcast light and the action was non stop with Red Footed Boobies diving in like Kamikazes gathering sticks adjacent to the path to the lighthouse. I wish I had a 24mm at times because they would take off towards your head with that massive wingspan. They definitely kept your head on a swivel and you had to just focus on one. This was a great time to see them carry away the sticks back to their nest. Click for large view.
