A1LST 60163 'Tornado' sweeps round the reverse curves at Baddesley Bridge, Atherstone with RTC's 1Z59 05:25 Stevenage to Chester 'Chester Christmas Express' on 19th December 2019.
This tour was demanding on locomotives, crews, train staff and volunteers with high mileage and long hours. Tornado departed Southall at 01.38 for Stevenage before wending its way via Cambridge, Ely, Peterborough, Nuneaton and Crewe to reach Chester. On the return leg Tornado was booked to come off the railtour in Leicester to proceed LE & coach to York arriving there at 01.06 the next day.
