LNER A1 4-6-2 60163 'Tornado' climbs well past Eardington Halt SVR at the head of the 10:20 Kidderminster - Bridgnorth service on 16th March 2018 during the SVR Spring Gala. .The new brickwork of the platform retaining wall is evident, awaiting fitment of new edging slabs, to once again make the halt an operational station. The 'new' brickwork used original GWR engineering bricks recovered from a bridge near Bristol dismantled during electrification works. The Friends of Eardington Station have been raising funds for this work since 2014 and would welcome any contributions to complete the job. .2018 marks the 150th Anniversary of the opening of Eardington Halt and is being celebrated with an 'Eardington 150' open weekend on 2nd/3rd June 2018 including vintage vehicles, historical talks, a vintage lamp display and of course the legendary Eardington cakes.
