70013 HADLEY WOOD

Evoking memories of Immingham (40B) based Britannias working the Kings Cross - Cleethorpes diagrams in the early 1960s, 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' bearing a 32A (Norwich) shedplate, emerges from Hadley Wood South Tunnel, with chime whistle warning of its approach, as it hauls the 'East Riding' (Kings Cross - Scarborough via Beverley) towards its first pick up point at Potters Bar, 28/6/2014. 70035 - 70041 were allocated to Immingham from 1961 to operate the Kings Cross services and fish trains from Grimsby, normally bringing two Britannia pacifics to Kings Cross each day to mix with the predominant Gresley and Peppercorn pacifics on the ECML.
