PHOTOGRAPHER'S DILEMMA: The 4M04 Felixstowe - Hams Hall intermodal was being held at Whitacre Junction effectively blocking the clear, sunlit view down to the Junction from the overbridge at Whitacre. 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' on the .7:50 1Z43 Tyseley - York 'Christmas White Rose' supposedly had a pathing stop of 8 minutes in Whitacre Down Arley loop and would then pass Whitacre Junction at 08:44. Would 1Z43 make this stop and allow 4M04 into Hams Hall? - no chance. An extra half mile hike was therefore required to get to a viewpoint clear of 4M04, but with no pathing stop 5043 was now running 11 minutes early meaning the sun had not risen far enough to clear the surrounding trees - a case of what might have been.
