New-build lner a1 pacific 60163 'tornado' runs through platform 3 and across the old great north road at wansford nvr on 13/9/2014. The station buildings on platform 3 , behind the locomotive, were privately owned for many years, but now belong to the nvr and are subject to an appeal to restore the delapidated interior.
