Better still, a reliable source has suggested the old Gaelic name, 'An Greasaiche Crom', the crooked shoemaker; a name which is unlikely to be resurrected in today's lazy society - but should be.
This was taken last winter after an aborted ascent of Ben Lomond, via the Ptarmigan ridge. Instead of scaling Ben Lomond's final hill-fog ridden three-hundred metres, I simply carried on down to Cailness (this was taken on the way) & returned to Rowardennan along the beautiful oak-lined shores of Loch Lomond.
