89001 Crewe 1-5-87
In its original livery, 89001 is seen at Crewe on a test train on 1 May 1987, with the BREL International train. This set was subsequently sold to Irish Rail. As far as I am aware, this train, which was based on the Mark 3 design, never carried passengers on the British railway system. Note the Mark 1 and Mark 3 lab vehicles in the BR Research livery of the time.
