stekelbes says: Used to be a time when football teams that won the league or reached the cup final released a terrible single that was nevertheless bought in great numbers by the fans. In 1995 Manchester United came up with this single/cassette for the FA Cup Final. They'd won the previous final and so they sang "We're gonna do it again". Unfortunately, they didn't.

stekelbes says: "Die Kremers" are twin brothers Erwin and Helmut Kremers, who played for Schalke 04 in the German Bundesliga when they recorded a couple of singles. "Das Mädchen meiner Träume" was a modest success in Germany. The follow-up ""Tanz' nur mit mir, schönes Mädchen" (also 1974) is best forgotten.

stekelbes says: Quoting from Wikipedia here... "Talkin' Baseball (Willie, Mickey & The Duke)" is a 1981 song written and performed by Terry Cashman. The song describes the history of American major league baseball from the 1950s to the beginning of the 1980s. The song was originally released during the 1981 Major League Baseball strike, and was inspired by a picture of the three outfielders of the title (Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, and Duke Snider) together. (Joe DiMaggio was also in the photograph, but he was left out of the song and airbrushed from the record's picture sleeve.) -- Cashman later made several versions of this song for various baseball teams; covers of these are also to be found here on flickr.
