Salvation
A new series I'm working on. Red Hand.
Salvation isn't always what it seems to be.
Strobist: Oh boy, where do I begin.
Two Canon 430's with 1/4" grids attached at 3 and 9 oclock. Also using Honl Gobo flags to keep the light from hitting low. I only wanted the tops of the hands lit. 1 Canon 530 behind the scene shooting through white plexi. The hand was suspended using all sorts of vices and clamps and a snout was used to focus the light on the hand. The drip is corn syrup and food coloring applies to the back of the hand. The 'set' is actually about 4 feet deep. The hands are front, the hanging hand is back a bit and the background is all the way back. Served two purposes. First I could drop away and not hit the white hands in the foreground. Second, the flash on the hand wouldn't affect the background.
Take all that and 8 hours of shooting time and that's what you get. ;-)
