PRELUDE: a 52 Week Self-portrait Project
---
After completing CRISIS, my very first 52 week self-portrait project, I realized that showing up in front of my camera on a weekly basis could be of benefit to me as an artist.
First of all, it helps with practice. It doesn't matter how good or bad I am at portrait photography, still I need to make portraits in order to improve. Then, once "at work" shooting, it can develop from a simple portrait into something I didn't plan, and give birth to a new work according to a beautiful thought by Picasso: "I begin with an idea and then it becomes something else."
Thus the name PRELUDE: introduction to something more important.
