ona była jak ciemne wino

ociekająca światłem noc

ona była jak gorzkie wino

z ust poprzez zęby

spłynęła w zaciśnięte gardło -- noc

i wszystko było o miłości

i nawet Jimmy przy drzwiach

głuchy Jimmy -- ślepy Jimmy

kołysał głowę w takt

 

ona była jak mocne wino

w woskowych kroplach -- we łzach

zmierzch głęboki na oczy spłynął

i na usta cieniem siadł

she was like dark wine

a night dripping with light

she was like bitter wine

from the mouth through the teeth

she flowed down the tightened throat -- the night

and all was about love

and even Jimmy at the door

the deaf Jimmy -- the blind Jimmy

swayed his head to the beat

 

she was like strong wine

in the wax drops -- in the tears

the deep dusk flowed down on the eyes

and sat as shadow on the lips
