2022 049-365 Storm Eunice

The Uk is being battered by Storm Eunice today.

Here, we were predicted 40mph winds, and gusts up to 66mph around lunchtime.

I was watching the trees from the sitting room, and decided to risk a short period in the back garden, focussing on these tall pine trees, which were moving from side to side quite dramatically.

Camera on a tripod, with a 1.8 stop ND filter and smaller aperture to get a 2 second exposure and show the movement. As I was just planning to head in, a huge gust caused the treetopss to not only sway from side to side, but also forwards towards me by around 6 feet I'd guess. I then though it was time to go inside!

Within an hour, Dave noticed that a smaller birch tree further down had come down, luckily doing no damage, although it is leaning on a tree next door (yes, the same neighbours again!).
