The Abstract
I got into photography because I was inspired by the sorts of shots that showcase epic landscape and scenes. Truth be told, though if you're not a travel photographer visiting exotic locations and you're just in your everyday surrounds things can look far more mundane.
It's a problem I've struggled to overcome while developing my photography and in the early days it killed my motivation to shoot. One way I have found around this is to shoot the details. Don't focus on the mundane object in its entirety, focus on the detail in the abstract to reveal an image that raises far more interest and curiosity in those viewing.
In this instance, such an approach has revealed in some uninspiring silver cladding some subtly reflected colours that with a bit of poking and prodding I've really been able to bring to life. Combined with the geometry of the diamonds it creates a simple image that I really love, in a style of photography I am coming to enjoy more and more everytime I go out to shoot.
Cheers, Chris
