Indian Jackal
An early morning encounter at the outskirt of my ancestral village in India.
As a child I used to hear them and fear them at night, they lived in our imagination and folklores. This one was seen by the side of a pond that was once heavily used by the people in the village. With availability of water from other sources, the villagers rarely visit this pond anymore; as a result, the sides of the pond are now overgrown with trees and bushes and created a perfect habitat for jackals and other wild animals.
