Peregrine Falcon - Male

From a distance I saw the male coming down fast from his vantage point high on a hydro tower and disappeared behind the structure of a bridge. I ran and as I turned the corner I saw a dead bird on the ground and the falcon on a nearby light post, looking at it. After hitting and killing his prey in midflight he couldn't catch it and the dead prey dropped to the ground. The Falcon was not about to give up the result of his hard work. After a few flyby it came down to scoop the dead bird from the ground. This is one of a series of shots that I took as he banked to retrieve his prey. Burlington, Ontario.
