A Poignant Moment
Between a predator and its prey. This is one of a series of photos that I took of an adult female Peregrine Falcon catching a Pigeon in flight. Seconds later she tried to transfer the pigeon to her newly fledged and only surviving chick who couldn't get hold of it and the pigeon escaped in a bush below; I couldn't tell if it survived at the end. This is how nature plays out, one dies so that another can live. It was a very tough lighting condition with sun behind the bird just when the Peregrine flew into my field of view with its prey.
