Parking Lot Mural
The murals spring from a plan to put urban artwork in the spotlight. The Vancouver Mural Festival is funded in part by the City of Vancouver’s Innovation Fund and is part of Mayor Gregor Robertson’s public art boost. The murals are to be on permanent display and are covered by an invisible goo which will make it easy to wash away tagging that is expected to follow. As well as local artists, participating international artists included those from France, Germany, Switzerland, and Brazil.
These few are in a back alley near Main and Broadway Streets in the Mount Pleasant area of Vancouver. Many more are dotted around the city.
