Boomers Road BFT

Running on home rails, the DMIR 408 brings a train of blast furnace trimmings around the bend at a quaint little spot called Lauren, about milepost 11 on the Iron Range Subdivision. These BFT trains (U736/737) run a few times a week during the summer months out of Minntac as needed, and typically sport 60-70 car trains of the old, faded Missabe jennies with build dates from the 1940s. A nice change of pace from the pellet trains on the line that exclusively use the newer, shinier jennies with build dates from 2010-2012.
