This image depicts actin (green) and p75 protein (red) in neural induced pluripotent stem cells. It is interesting that not all the neurons exhibited p75, suggesting that the protein may be expressed in a subpopulation of cells. Visualization of subcellular components using immunocytochemistry is a powerful tool for understanding the structure of neurons and relating that structure to the function of the building blocks of our nervous system.
