Warroad is the first in a series of four American communities along the CN Sprague Subdivision south of Lake of the Woods. The Sprague is a Canadian signaled and signed railroad, geographically forced into the States by the magnitude of Lake of the Woods. It's certainly a railroad oddity at the top of Minnesota.
