Ducks in a Row

Eliza Rosen

Sudetenland, Czech Republic

February 22, 2013

This photo was taken on a trip to the Sudetenland in Czech Republic. The area was close to the German border and used to contain villages of Czech citizens of German descent. However, after World War II all Czech citizens of German descent were expelled from Czech lands under the Benes decrees, leaving abandoned villages on the border. This photo is of my group as we hiked to see one of the lost villages and passed an abandoned hunting tower.
