Love Never Lasts Forever
Looking at the clock anxiously in the classroom Porter is halfway through his Test. When he is done with the test, he looks at his phone and there is a voice message. Porter is very dedicated to his studies and social life and sometimes his gaming life which he plays after everything is done. He goes to a community college full time, and works in the summer time as a security guard at a packing house. Hailey tells him to keep going and accomplish his goals of life and dreams. Porter and Hailey are going to be torn apart because Hailey tells Porter about how advanced her cancer is through a voice message, Hailey says her goodbyes to family members, Porter is destroyed emotionally.
After the test, Porter went outside to listen to the message from Hailey. Hailey tells Porter through the message how her cancer is very advanced and she may only have a few days to live. Porter gets in his car and starts to drive towards Hailey’s house only to find out she isn’t even there. The only person there was Hailey’s mother standing outside the door, Porter walks up to her to find her crying. Porter finds out Hailey is being taken to the hospital with her brother and father. Porter offered to take her to see her daughter one last time but she refused, so porter went to the hospital. Whether it was Hailey dying or losing a girlfriend was starting to get on porter’s nerves and worries.
Lying in the hospital bed Hailey starts saying goodbye to her father and then her older brother. Porter was nowhere in the room, the only people there was family members. Hailey thinks about what to say to porter so she starts to write down what she wants to say to Porter. Porter arrives and walks through the front entrance, Porter asks the nurse what room Hailey’s room is and proceeds to see Hailey. Porter can’t get inside the room, so he waits outside till everyone leaves. Even though Hailey is busy talking to all those people, she truly just wants to spend her last days with Porter.
After everyone leaves the room Porter goes inside, Hailey is asleep. Porter grabs a chair and sits by her bed, holding onto her hand gently. Hailey wakes up seeing porter sitting there, Hailey smiles and is about to talk. As about as Hailey is going to speak, she flat lines and dies in front of porter. Porter holds her and begins to cry uncontrollably, his heart feels like it has just been cracked or broken. Porter then sees the letter and reads it to himself. “Dear Porter, I don’t know how to say this properly, I love you a lot and hope I can see you before I die. But if I do end up dying, will you promise me you’ll move on with your life, love Hailey”. Despite reading Hailey’s letter, Porter does keep her promise and moves on.
The moral of the story, is that Porter is forever changed, having lost Hailey. Porter continues to move on remember her and finishing up his studies. Next would be a funeral for Hailey, a black coffin and a lot of purple roses. Porter attends the funeral in a black suit carrying a single blue rose. The lesson for this story would be to move on and don’t look back, even though it hurts the person a lot. There is more to life and more happiness. Porter and Hailey had a sad ending relationship because Hailey gets cancer or had it for a while and it only got worse, saying goodbye to loved ones and porter grieving over Hailey, but moves on for her.
